Barcelona was the home of Antonio Gaudi, one of the greatest architects of all time. His extraordinary buildings, his singular concept of architecture and uses of geometry and color give him a unique, worldwide appeal. This is the center of modernism or what Barcelona calls Art Nouveau.

DAY 2: BARCELONA

Arrival in Barcelona, where you are greeted by your hosts and transferred to the hotel. Afternoon at leisure to become acclimated to a new time zone and this city, which incorporates history, art, culture, shopping, nightlife and food. DAY 3: BARCELONA

There is Las Ramblas, there is the Gothic Quarter and everywhere there is Gaudi. We explore it all, including a visit to Park Guell, and the exhibition Gaudi at Parc Geull: Architecture and Nature, as well as Casa Museu Gaudi, the architects home. Then we visit the updated УEspai Gaudi У and Casa Mila and which so thoroughly defies characterization, that it is hard to image how anyone could even conceive of it. On to Passeig de Gracia, BarcelonaТs most elegant boulevard, which along with the surrounding streets became the proving ground for modernisme architects. DAY 4: BARCELONA

One of the worldТs most extraordinary churches and reason enough to come to Barcelona, is the Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia. The exhibition Gaudi and his Workshop are dedicated to the years he devoted to building of the church. We then visit other famous Gaudi structures including the Casa Vicens, the Villa Bellesguard, the convent school of the Tersianas, the Passeig de Gracia and more. A visit to Barcelona is not complete without seeing the Sardanas, a cultural dance event where Barcelonians dance in the main square to medieval Catalonian instruments. Overnight Barcelona. (B.D.)

DAY 5: BARCELONA

Gaudi’s work had a great influence on contemporary art, especially on Joan Miro and Salvador Dali. We visit two exhibitions The Gaudi Series by Joan Miro and Dali and Gaudi. Gaudi and Dali. We then visit the Miro Museum and the Picasso Museum, with over 2500 pieces of art. Overnight Barcelona.(B)

DAY 6: FIGUERAS

Full day excursion to the Costa Brava, most elegant and exclusive Coastline resort, and Figueras, the birthplace of Dali to visit his house and spectacular museum. TodayТs lunch is at the breathtaking Parador de Aguavlaba. (B.L)
