DAY 1: DEPART U.S.A.

You leave this evening on an overnight flight to Amman.

DAY 2: WELCOME TO THE HESHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN

You will be met by your tour guide and transferred to the hotel in Amman. (B.D.)

DAY 3: JERICHO-BETH SHEAN-NAZARETH-TIBERIUS

Depart Amman to the Holy Land. Cross the Jordan River and visit Jericho, the oldest city in the world. From Jericho you can also see the traditional site of the Temptation of Jesus and the Judean Wilderness. Continue to Beth Shean one of the Roman Decopolis and biblical Scythopolis to visit the Roman theatre, paved road and the excavations. Drive to Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus, the Church of Annunciation and Mary’s Well. You also see Cana where Jesus performed His first miracle. Overnight Nazareth. (B.D.)

DAY 4: SEA OF GALILEE

Today spend the day literally in His Footsteps. Sail across the Sea of Galilee. See the “Jesus boat “uncovered in 1986 from the mud on the seashore by a group of young boys. Explore Capernaum, where His Galilean ministry was headquartered and many miracles took place. See the new church built on St. Peter’s house and visit Chorazim which was cursed by Jesus because the people did not follow His teaching. Drive to Mount of Beatitudes where Our Lord preached the Sermon on the Mount, than to Tabgha, Greek for Seven Springs and the Church of the Multiplication of Fishes and Loaves. There will be an opportunity to taste St. Peter’s fish for lunch (optional) Stop at the Jordan River with time for a baptismal service. Overnight Nazareth. (B.D.)

DAY 5: MUKHRAKA-CAESAREA-HAIFA-MT. CARMEL

After a delicious Israeli breakfast you visit Mukhraka for a spectacular view of the northern region. Continue to Haifa and Mt. Carmel to see Elijah’s Grotto. Then we drive up the coastline to the ancient Roman City of Caesarea. Visit Megiddo and the Valley of Armageddon, before arriving Jerusalem for overnight. (B.D.)

DAY 6: JERUSALEM: THE HOLY CITY

Enjoy the unforgettable view from atop the Mount of Olives, and visit the church of Pater Noster and the Chapel of Ascension. Walk down the Palm Sunday road, stopping at the Chapel of Dominus Flevit ( the teardrop). Continue to the Church of All Nations in the Garden of Gethsemane. Descend across the Kidron Valley, to see the Pool of Siloam and the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu where the Apostle denied Christ thee times. Continue on to Mt. Zion, to visit the room of the Last Supper, King David’s Tomb and the Church of the Dormition. Conditions permitting, visit Bethany, site of the house of Mary and Lazarus. Overnight in Jerusalem. DAY 7: BETHLEHEM – EIN KAREM – NEW CITY

Start the day by visiting Bethlehem, Shepherd’s Field and Grotto. See the Church of The Nativity built over the birthplace of Our Lord. On the way back to Jerusalem stop at the village of Ein Karem the birth place of John the Baptist, and see the Church of the Visitation where Mary visited her cousin Elisabeth. See the site of the village of Emmaus. Visit the Model City, depicting Jerusalem as it was in time of King David, and the Israel Museum with its Shrine of the Book, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are kept. We end the day with a visit to the Garden Tomb. Overnight Jerusalem. (B.D.)

DAY 8: JERUSALEM: OLD CITY

Enter the old city via Zion Gate, see the Wailing Wall and the Temple Mount, the Pool of Bethesda, St. Anne’s Church (birthplace of Mary), the Chapel of Flagellation, Ecco Home Arch and onto the Via Dolorosa to retrace the final hours of His life passing, to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Leave the city through the bazaars to the west by Jaffa Gate. Overnight Jerusalem (B.D.)

DAY 9: BETHANY BEYOND THE JORDAN-MT. NEBO-MADABA-PETRA

Cross back into Jordan and visit the newly opened Christian pilgrimage site: the Baptismal Archeological Park on the east banks of the Jordan River. This area is believed to be “Bethany beyond Jordan”, and the site where Our Lord was baptized by John the Baptist. Continue to the top of Mt. Nebo overlooking the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. You see the “Promised Land” as Moses did, and his reported burial site. We then depart for Madaba, to see St. George’s Church and on its floor the most complete mosaic map of Palestine, and on to Jerash the best preserved Roman city in the Middle East. Tonight you arrive in Petra. (B.D.)

DAY 10: PETRA-AMMAN{mosimage}

You tour this amazing red rose city, where you either walk into the city or take a horse ride through the dramatic “ciq” or canyon. See the Treasury, the Theater, the Monastery and the Street of Columns. Leaving the Land of Edom late in the afternoon you arrive Amman for overnight. (B.D.)

DAY 11: RETURN TO THE U.S.A.

This morning transfer to the airport for your flight home. (B.)
