DAY 1: DEPART NEWARK

You’ll leave this evening on an overnight flight to Holy Land.

DAY 2: TEL AVIV-NETANYA

Welcome to the Holy Land. You will be met by your tour guide and transferred to the hotel in the coastal resort town of Netanya. (D.)

DAY 3:CAESAREA- HAIFA-MT. CARMEL- NAZARETH

After a delicious Israeli breakfast you travel up the coastline to the ancient Roman city of Caesarea. Continue on to the third largest city in Israel, Haifa. Visit the Carmelite Monastery of “ Stella Maris “.  Here is Elijah’s Grotto and home of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Celebrate Mass in this peaceful spot. Enjoy the breathtaking view from atop Mt. Carmel, where Our Lord spent the first 30 years of His life. Visit Nazareth and see Mary’s Well where the Angel Gabriel told Mary she would give birth to Our Lord Jesus Christ. See St. Joseph’s Church and have Mass at the Church of Annunciation. Continue to Cana to visit the Wedding Church, site of Jesus’s first miracle. There will be an opportunity for couples to renew their marriage vows. Overnight in Nazareth or at the Sea of Galilee. (B.D.)

DAY 4: GALILEE

Today spend the day literally in His Footsteps. Sail across the Sea of Galilee. See the “Jesus Boat“,  uncovered in 1986 from the mud of the seashore. Visit the Church of St. Peter’s Primacy and explore Capernaum with the new church built on St. Peter’s house. See Chorazim, which was cursed by Our Lord because the people did not follow his teachings. Drive to the Mount of Beatitudes where Our Lord preached the Sermon on the Mount, where you have Mass, and lunch at the Franciscan Convent.  Then to Tabgha, Greek for Seven Springs and the Church of the Multiplication of Fishes and Loave.

DAY 5: SAMARIA- JERUSALEM

Start the day with Mass at Mt. Tabor and the Church of Transfiguration, before proceeding through breathtaking scenery of Samaria to Jacob’s Well, where Jesus met the Samarian Women. Stop for lunch in Subasia where you enjoy the traditional delicacies while relaxing in a picturesque spot. Continue to Jericho, the oldest known inhabited city in the world. You will also meet a priest from the local Christian village who shares stories of life in this Biblical setting. Late in the afternoon follow the Ancient Pilgrims route via the Samaritan Inn to Jerusalem for overnight. (B.D.)

DAY 6: JERUSALEM: HOLY CITY

Enjoy the unforgettable view from atop the Mount of Olives, visit the Church of Pater Noster and the Chapel of Ascension. Walk down the Palm Sunday Road, stopping at the Chapel of Dominus Flevit (the teardrop) where you celebrate Mass. Continue to the Church of All Nations in the Garden of Gethsemane. Descend across the Kidron Valley, to the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu where the Apostle denied Christ three times. Continue on to Mt. Zion, to visit the room of the Last Supper, King David’s Tomb and the Church of the Dormition. Here the Holy Mother fell into eternal sleep. Conditions permitting you visit Bethany, site of the house of Mary and Lazarus. Overnight in Jerusalem. (B.D.)

DAY 7: BETHLEHEM- EIN KAREM- NEW CITY

Start the day by visiting Bethlehem, Shepherd’s Field and Grotto. See the Church of Nativity built over the birthplace of Our Lord and St. Catherine’s over the tomb of St. Jerome. Here you celebrate Mass. On the way back to Jerusalem stop at the village of Ein Karem, the birthplace of St. John the Baptist, and see the Church of Visitation where Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth. Back in Jerusalem, you have a panoramic tour of the New City. Overnight Jerusalem. (B.D.)

DAY 8: JERUSALEM: OLD CITY

Enter the Old City via Zion Gate, to see the Wailing Wall and the Temple Mount.  See the Pool of Bethesda, St. Anne’s Church (birthplace of Mary), the Chapel of Flagellation and Condemnation, the Prison, Ecco Home Arch and onto the Via Dolorosa, the Way of the Cross to the Holy Sepulchre. Here you celebrate Mass. Overnight Jerusalem. (B.D.)

DAY 9: JERUSALEM- ROME

Enjoy a free morning in Jerusalem and the opportunity to shop in the Old Town Bazaar. In the afternoon you fly to Rome from Tel Aviv. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Rome. (B.)

DAY 10: CHRISTIAN ROME

Your full day starts with the Papal Audience (Wednesdays only), followed by visits to St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museum, including the Sistine Chapel. You also visit the Holy Stairs, the Basilicas of St. Mary Major, St. John the Lateran and the Holy Stairs and St. Paul Outside the Walls. We also stop at the Forum and the Coliseum the centers of activity during Ancient Rome. (B.D.)

DAY 11: ROME

Day at leisure in Rome to explore the city on your own, visit a museum or just relax. Or your group may choose to take an optional visit to Assisi or Pompeii and Sorrento. Overnight Rome. (B.D.)

DAY 12: ROME- RETURN TO THE U.S.A.

This morning transfer to the airport for your flight back home. (B.)
