DAY 1: DEPART USA

You’ll depart on an overnight flight to Lourdes via Paris.

DAY 2: LOURDES

Welcome to France. Upon arrival at the great pilgrimage center of Lourdes, you are transferred to the hotel. After dinner, participate in the candlelight procession, joining pilgrims from all over the world. Overnight Lourdes. (D.)

DAY 3/4: LOURDES

You start the day with Mass at the Grotto, followed by a walking tour of Lourdes. The remainder of the day is at leisure. You have the opportunity to bathe in the Baths, where miraculous cures have taken place, and pray Stations of the Cross, participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, pray the Rosary and sing hymns in honor of the Mother of God. DAY 5: LOURDES- PARIS- ROUEN

This morming we take the TGV train to Paris where we are met by our coach and tour escort. We depart for Rouen, City of Saint Joan of Arc. We start with a visit to the glorious gothic cathedral, painted so many times by Monet. Continue to Place de Vieux Marche where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake on May 30, 1431 and where a church is built in the Saint’s honor. We visit the museum, the Palace of Justice and other points of interest. Overnight Rouen (B.D.)

DAY 6: LISIEUX

Travel to the home of St. Theresa, “The Little Flower.” Visit the Basilica, and the Carmelite Chapel, where St. Theresa’s body lies. In 1997 the Holy Father proclaimed the Saint, “Doctor of the Church,” and thus she joins only two other female saints, who have received this high honor. Celebrate Mass at the Basilica and tour places associated with St. Theresa’s life. Overnight Caen area. (B.D.)

DAY 7/8: NORMANDY BEACHES- MONT ST. MICHELE

We start the day with a visit to Bayeux, the first city in France to be liberated by Americans on D Day.  See the Landing Beaches of Normandy and the American Cemetery in St. Laurent. Continue to Mont St. Michele, sometimes called the “Wonder of the Western World “, and one of Catholicism’s most incredible artistic achievements. We visit the splendid abbey perched atop the island rock on which the Archangel Michael appeared to a bishop. Overnight Caen area. (B.D.)

DAY 9: PONTMAIN- CHARTRESImage

We depart for Pontmain, a shrine often bypassed by American pilgrims, but honored by the Europeans who come here every year by the thousands to pray to the Queen of Peace and Unity. We visit the site where the Blessed Virgin appeared to a group of children in times of war, to signal that she is offering protection and the war will be over soon. We also see the Chapel of Lights, the Basilica, Heart of Hope Prayer Room, and more. We arrive Chartres for overnight. (B.D.)

DAY 10: CHARTRES- ORLEANS

Today we visit the Cathedral of Chartres, dedicated to the Virgin Mary and considered one of the greatest masterpieces of Gothic architecture and art. We visit the Cathedral and see the circular labyrinth, located on the floor of the nave, which represents good and evil with paradise at its center. Pilgrims used to crawl this 920 foot long path, which is now often obscured by chairs. We then continue to Orleans, city of the Maid of Orleans, celebrated on May 7,the day that Joan of Arc liberated the city from English forces. We visit the house of Joan of Arc and the Cathedral of St. Croix. Overnight Paris. (B.D.)

DAY 11: PARIS

After Mass this morning, at the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal Chapel, Rue De Bac, which contains the incorrupt body of St. Catherine Laboure, we have a city tour visiting the highlights of Paris.  The tour includes: the Notra Dame Cathedral, St. Vincent De Paul, Eiffel Tower, Place de la Concorde, Madeline Church, and more. Afternoon is at leisure to visit the Cathedral of Sacred Heart and the Artist Section, or to simply enjoy a stroll along the Seine River. Overnight in Paris. (B.)

DAY 12: RETURN TO THE U.S.A.

This morning, time permitting, we visit St. Chapelle before we depart for the airport and flight home. (B.)

DAY 12: NEVERS- PARIS

Today travel to Nevers, to visit the convent of St. Gildard where St. Bernadette’s incorrupt body reposes and may be viewed. After she was blessed with eighteen apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Lourdes, St. Bernadette retired to Nevers. She received the religious habit in 1866. Celebrate Mass at the Convent and have lunch. In the afternoon return to Paris for overnight. (B.D.)
