Visit Sites Associated with Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen
- Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (the Angelicum) – where Sheen studied through every line of Thomas Aquinas in 1924.
- Caelian Hill – Including the church where Sheen was consecrated a Bishop on June 11, 1951, by Cardinal Adeodato Piazza.
- St. Peter’s Basilica – the heart of Sheen’s participation in Vatican Council II from 1962 to 1965, during which he served as a Council Father under Pope John XXIII and Pope Paul VI.
- Catacomb of St. Sebastian – Bishop Sheen visited these catacombs in 1960 with his grandnephew and again in 1961 with his niece, where they encountered an African missionary preaching, an image, for Sheen, of the Church’s enduring missionary spirit.
