We depart on an overnight transatlantic flight to Dubrovnik.


Arrival today at the Dubrovnik airport where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure to relax and become acclimated to a new time zone. Before meeting your fellow travelers and tour director for dinner, you can take a walk to the Old Town also called the “Pearl of the Adriatic”.  Tonight we have a welcome dinner in a typical Dalmatian restaurant with local delicacies and wine. This morning enjoy a walking tour of “Old Dubrovnik”; starting with St. Blaze church, the Rector’s Palace, Bell Tower clock, Orlando’s Column and the Sponza Palace. You will also see the Dominican Monastery and Franciscan Monastery with it’s Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. After lunch, on your own, in one of the many small family owned restaurants along the narrow streets, we depart for Medjugorje driving along the breathtaking Adriatic coast. Upon arrival in Medjugorje your host family will welcome you warmly. Before dinner, attend the evening program at the St. James Church. Overnight Medjugorje. (B.D.)


Join the English Mass, visit the Apparition Hill and climb Holy Cross Mountain. If possible, meetings with visionaries and Father Jozo will also be scheduled.  In the evenings attend the recitation of the Rosary and the Healing service at St. James Church. Depart very early with good memories (8AM) from this peace filled heaven to Split. En route you are welcome to stop at the little Lourdes Shrine in Veprice ( next to Makarska, half way to Split). We then stop in Makarska for a quick breakfast before arriving at Our Lady of Sinj, one of Croatia’s oldest spiritual centers. The shrine is home of the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary, dating from the seventeenth century. At arrival in Split, enjoy a city tour featuring the historic inner city, built around Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle and the Cathedral. Tonight we have  dinner in a local «Konoba». (B.D.)


After breakfast, we head north along the coast to Trogir, the center of artistic activities, where scholars from around the world gather to study and paint. Then it’s on to Zadar, the oldest Slavic city on the Adriatic, once famed cultural center. We pause here for an orientation tour that includes the ruins of the Roman Forum, the Cathedral and St. Donat Church. Our journey continues, as we turn inland towards the beautiful Plitvice Lakes National Park. Overnight. (B.D.)

DAY 8: ZADA-Our Lady of Trsat-OPATIJA

Today we continue the drive along the magnificent coast into a region called Istria. Enroute we stop for Holy Mass at Our Lady of Trsat, built to commemorate the transfer of the Holy House of Nazareth from Jerusalem to Loreto. Tradition tells us the Holy House was kept here between 1292 and 1294 before its final destination in Loreto. We arrive Opatija late in the day. Overnight (B.D.)


Today we take the hydrofoil to the romantic city of Venice. Venice is a city of mystery and fancy. Our tour of the city includes the Basilica of St. Mark,  Dodges Palace and the Bridge of Sighs. Rest of the day at leisure to explore on your own. Overnight Venice area (B.)


Morning departure for Florence, with sightseeing stops in Padua to see the impressive Basilica of St. Anthony with bronze works by Donatello and Church of Annunciation. Mid-afternoon arrival in Florence. Overnight Florence. (B.L.D.)


The city of visual splendor awaits you. Florence is graced with majestic monuments, magnificent churches and unparalleled works of art. Morning tour of Michelangelo’s city which includes a visit to the Academia to see the Statue of David, “Gates of Paradise” of the Baptistery, the Duomo, Giotto’s Bell Tower, Signoria Square, and Santa Croce Church. In the afternoon we travel to Assisi home of St. Francis and St. Clare, city of birds and silence. You have a walking tour of Assisi and visit Santa Maria Degli Angeli in the valley. After morning Mass at the Basilica of St. Francis, we stop at the Convent of San Damiano and then depart for Rome. In the afternoon you are at the center of Western civilization and the heart of modern Italy. The “ Eternal City”, where three millennia of Mediterranean civilization exist, is full of larger than life monuments, which you see during the Ancient tour. You see St. Paul Outside the Walls, the Coliseum, Piazza Venezia, Via Veneto, Aurelian Wall, Castle Sant’ Angelo, and the Pantheon. Overnight in Rome. (B.D.)


Today we participate in the Papal Audience and visit St. Peter’s Basilica where we visit the tomb of Pope John Paul II. In the afternoon see Christian Rome, including a visit to St. Mary Major Basilica, St. John Lateran, the Holy Stairs, as well as, other famous sites. Overnight in Rome (B.D.)
