Early this morning, we depart for Ávila, Spain, the magnificent walled city dedicated to St. Teresa of Ávila, the great mystic and one of the first women to be named a Doctor of the Church. We visit La Santa Convent (Convent of St. Teresa), built on the house where St. Teresa was born, and the Monastery of the Incarnation (La Encarnación Convent), where St. Teresa became a nun and is now the home of the most comprehensive museum dedicated to her life. In the museum, you may see various relics and the stairs where she is said to have encountered the Child Jesus. At Ávila Cathedral, which also contains many of St. Teresa’s relics, we celebrate Mass. Dinner and overnight in Ávila. Meals: B, D
