We depart Denver on an overnight flight to Lisbon. Dinner and breakfast will be served on board. Upon arrival in Lisbon, our Spanish-speaking Tour Manager will be on hand to welcome us. We board our deluxe motor coach for a panoramic tour of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal and one of Europe’s most beautiful and storied cities. Dramatically positioned along the River Tagus, Lisbon captivates with its colors, hills, and history. We admire the iconic Belém Tower, marvel at the 300-foot-high statue of Christ the King, and take in views of the 25 de Abril Bridge, one of Europe’s longest suspension bridges. We then make our way to the magnificent church marking the birthplace of St. Anthony of Padua, where we enjoy a guided visit and celebrate Mass together. We settle into our hotel for dinner and a restful first night in Lisbon. Meals: D
After breakfast, we depart for the historic city of Santarém to celebrate Mass and venerate one of the most remarkable Eucharistic miracles in Church history: the Miracle of the Holy Eucharist, where a consecrated Host began to bleed in the 13th century. We then continue to Fátima, arriving in time to explore the magnificent Basilica complex. Our coach takes us to the parish church where the three visionaries, Lúcia, Jacinta, and Francisco, were baptized, as well as other sites connected to their early lives. We visit the cemetery and their family homes in Aljustrel, and may have the opportunity to meet relatives of the visionaries. Dinner and overnight in Fátima. Meals: B, D
This morning we celebrate Mass at the Capelinha, the little chapel built on the very site where Our Lady appeared to the children. We visit the Chapel of Apparitions, venerate the tombs of St. Jacinta and St. Francisco Marto (canonized by Pope Francis in 2017), and pray at the Adoration Chapel and Miraculous Fountain. We journey to Valinhos, where the Angel of Peace appeared to the children, and to the outdoor Shrine where Our Lady appeared to them in August. We also visit the beautiful life-sized Stations of the Cross erected by American pilgrims, and the Shrine of the Crucifixion, perched on the highest point and built by Hungarian refugees as an act of faith and gratitude. In the late afternoon, we return to the Cova da Iria for the solemn Procession of the Most Blessed Sacrament. This evening, we join pilgrims from around the world in the moving Candlelight Procession. Dinner and overnight in Fátima. Meals: B, D
We depart Fátima and travel north into Spain, arriving in Santiago de Compostela, one of the great pilgrimage cities of the Christian world. Our visit takes on extraordinary significance this year: 2027 is an official Jacobean Holy Year (Año Xacobeo), declared because the Feast of St. James (July 25) falls on a Sunday. During this rare Jubilee Year, pilgrims who visit the Cathedral and pass through the Holy Door may receive a Plenary Indulgence. The Cathedral of St. James is a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture, with a breathtaking Baroque façade added in later centuries. As pilgrims, we ascend the stairs behind the high altar to embrace the statue of St. James and visit the crypt where his relics are enshrined. We admire the Pórtico de la Gloria and witness the famous botafumeiro, the giant incense burner that swings in a dramatic arc across the transept, before exploring the cloister museum. Time is yours to wander the enchanting medieval streets of the city. Mass will be celebrated. Dinner and overnight in Santiago de Compostela. Meals: B, D
Today we travel east across the green landscapes of Galicia and the Castilian meseta toward the magnificent city of Burgos. Please note: this is our longest driving day at approximately 5.5 hours; we recommend a scenic rest stop en route, and your Tour Manager will arrange this accordingly. Upon arrival in Burgos, we celebrate Mass at the stunning Gothic Cathedral of Burgos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest Gothic cathedrals in Spain. Dinner and overnight in Burgos. Meals: B, D
After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and travel westward through the dramatic landscape of the Basque Country, making a meaningful pilgrimage stop at the Sanctuary of Loyola. Built in the 17th century around the birthplace of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), this magnificent sanctuary features a spectacular dome and a stunning main altarpiece crafted in marble and jasper. We celebrate Mass here before continuing our journey into France. Nestled at the foot of the Pyrenees, the mountain town of Lourdes is one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the world and the birthplace of St. Bernadette Soubirous. It was here, near the Grotto of Massabielle, that Our Lady appeared to young Bernadette 18 times beginning in 1858. We arrive in time for dinner at our hotel. Overnight in Lourdes. Meals: B, D
Over two full and grace-filled days in Lourdes, we immerse ourselves in the prayer and healing spirit of this holy place. We celebrate Mass at the Grotto of Massabielle and walk in the footsteps of St. Bernadette, visiting Boly Mill, where she was born, and the “Cachot,” the humble abandoned prison where her impoverished family once lived. With pilgrims from every corner of the world, we pray for the sick, drink from the miraculous spring, and have the opportunity to be immersed in the healing baths. We walk the life-sized Stations of the Cross that overlook the sacred Grotto. We kneel in the chapel built into the very rock where Our Lady identified herself as the Immaculate Conception. In the evenings, we gather for the Blessed Sacrament Procession and join the beloved Candlelight Procession and group Rosary, a profound experience of the universal Church at prayer. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes (both nights). Meals: B, D (both days)
Departing Lourdes in the morning, we drive through the beautiful French and Spanish countryside to one of the most dramatically situated monasteries in the world: the Benedictine Abbey of Montserrat, perched high in the jagged mountain range of the same name. We celebrate Mass and venerate the beloved Black Madonna, La Moreneta, the patron saint of Catalonia. After time to explore the monastery and enjoy the sweeping mountain views, we continue to Barcelona, arriving for dinner and overnight. Meals: B, D
This morning we discover Barcelona on a guided city tour. The undisputed highlight is the Basílica de la Sagrada Família, Antoni Gaudí’s masterpiece and one of the most extraordinary works of religious architecture ever conceived. Its soaring spires and organic forms blend the sacred and the visionary in a way unlike any other church in the world. We also visit the Cathedral of Barcelona (La Seu), where we see the famous Gothic cloister with its 13 white geese, a centuries-old Barcelonese tradition. Mass will be celebrated. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the vibrant city: stroll the pedestrian boulevard known as La Rambla, discover the Gothic Quarter, or simply take in the energy of this magnificent Mediterranean capital. This evening, we come together for a special farewell dinner at a local restaurant to celebrate the journey and the bonds formed along the way. Overnight in Barcelona. Meals: B, Special Farewell Dinner
This morning, we bid farewell to the Iberian Peninsula and all it has given us: sacred sites, spiritual encounters, rich history, and lasting friendships. We transfer to Barcelona airport for our return flight to the United States, carrying with us the graces of this pilgrimage and the memories of a journey that will long remain in our hearts. Meals: B
