Join Dixie Lane on Pilgrimage

Dixie Dillon Lane is a Catholic mom of four, an associate editor at Hearth & Field, and a historian (Notre Dame Ph.D.) who writes about faith, education, and family. She homeschools her kids in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and loves finding ways to bring beautiful Catholic traditions to life in her home and community. Dixie is so excited to explore the meaningful Advent and Christmas experiences in store for us in this pilgrimage to the heart of Europe. As a former archivist who has lived in Europe for extended periods twice, she especially looks forward to visiting some of the most beautiful libraries of the world here!

Dixie co-led her first pilgrimage with Select in 2025, when she walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain with a group of incredible new friends. She can’t wait to see what amazing experiences and rich spiritual treasures will be unwrapped during this upcoming trip to Austria and Bavaria!

Kristin Haakenson is a mom and artist who paints, writes, and cultivates community on their family farm in the Pacific Northwest.  Through her body of work in Hearthstone Fables, Kristin offers support for seasonal, local, liturgical living, exploring the agrarian heritage of the Church calendar and considering how we can all weave the incarnational essence of these ancient traditions into our own lives and landscapes.  Kristin is passionate about the “theology of place,” so she’s especially thrilled to journey alongside fellow-pilgrims to encounter the stories embedded in Austria and Bavaria!
