Join Jon Leonetti on Pilgrimage
Jon Leonetti is a nationally known Catholic speaker, best-selling author, and radio host who conveys a message of lasting fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Through Jon’s keynote presentations and parish missions, thousands of Catholics each year discover the freedom Christ offers by way of his life and love. Jon is the author of four books, including his newest book: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Holiness. Jon believes that our deepest longing for happiness and wholeness is fulfilled in the encounter with Jesus Christ. Jon is married to his wife Teresa, and together have three children. Jon has a masters degree in moral theology.
Our Spiritual Director for Poland: Bishop William M. Joensen
The Most Rev. William M. Joensen, Ph.D., was ordained and installed in 2019 as bishop of the Diocese of Des Moines.
Born in 1960, Bishop Joensen received a B.S. (Zoology) from Iowa State University in 1982, then completed seminary studies at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio, and was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Dubuque in 1989. He earned a doctorate in philosophy from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., in 2001. He has served in parishes, as spiritual director at St. Pius X Seminary in Dubuque and in a variety of roles at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.
Our Spiritual Director for Italy: Bishop Scott Bullock
Bishop Scott Bullock was born in Royal Oak, MI, and was the youngest of three children.
In the summer before the 5th grade, his family moved to Elkton, MD, where he graduated from high school and began college the next year at the University of Delaware. Ultimately, he graduated with a BS in Industrial Engineering in 1985 from General Motors Institute in Flint, MI and was then employed as an engineer in the automotive industry. Around this time, an active consideration of the vocation to the priesthood arose in his heart and soul, prompted by the sincere invitation of some men and women in a Bible study group. Rather than responding to the call at that time, he instead moved to Iowa to attend Iowa State University in the graduate program in Statistics. It was there, within the first semester of graduate studies, that he felt an intensification of an inner calling to consider priesthood and, with peace and joy, he left his previous studies behind and entered seminary as a candidate for the Archdiocese of Dubuque (Iowa).
After four years of study at the North American College in Rome, he was ordained to the priesthood by Archbishop Daniel Kucera in 1991. He studied Canon Law at the Catholic University of America and was awarded a License in Canon Law Degree in 1997.
In his leisure time, he completed a Master’s Degree in English (Literature) in 2015 and then taught Literature and English composition classes at the college level for Catholic high school students through a local community college.
