Nurture
d and grew up in the State of Maine in a large family of eleven children. I have three brothers and five sisters and two angels in heaven, all of whom are married and have raised their families and now enjoying their grandchildren.

I entered the Capuchin Franciscan Novitiate in 1969 in Milton Ma. I obtained the Bachelors of Arts degree in Philosophy and sociology at St. Anselm’s College in Manchester, New Hampshire.

 In 1974, I was blessed to embraced my solemn vows of poverty, chastity and obedience in the Capuchin Franciscan Order. My study of Theology was at Maryknoll Seminary in Ossining, New York, obtaining a Masters in Divinity. A further degree was obtained in Pastoral /Spiritual Counseling from Fordham University in Bronx, New York.  Ordained to the Sacred Priesthood on May 27, 1978 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City, it is there where I spent approximately 25 years of my priesthood in bilingual parishes, from the Lower East Side of Manhattan to the Upper East Side.

I also served as an Orderly and as a Chaplain for 7 years at St. Rose’s Terminal Cancer Home in Lower Manhattan.  I also spent time in Central and Latin America studying language and culture while working in parishes. These were wonderful years experiencing ministry in the flux of much change.

Later stationed in New Hampshire where I was privileged to serve as Pastor in various parishes as well as to serve as Catholic Chaplain in Concord, Hospital. I was blessed to construct the first Perpetual Adoration Chapel in Manchester, N.H.

I have been a Priest for 47 years and in the Capuchin Franciscan Order for 56 years. My last assignment in New York was Pastor of St. Michael’s/ St. Malachi’s, in East New York section of Brooklyn. I was Chaplain at Mass General Hospital in Boston, while residing at St. Francis Friary in Jamaica Plain, MA .

In 2020, I was stationed in Diocese of Portland, Maine as Director of Hispanic Ministry. The ministry has been a great blessing for me as well as helping out in various parishes throughout the diocese.
